The Averages...

This was the final piece in on World News this past Thursday. It's about some statistics that Time Magazine put together about how time is spent in the average American household. The advantage of being able to type pretty fast is that I can catch these pieces on the fly. :)

Mr. or Ms. Average gets up at 7:00 A.M., 2/3 of us having shared our beds with another person or a pet. Mr. Average spends 18 to 36 minutes at breakfast, 24 minutes grooming. A bit more if it's Ms. Average. Our commute? 25 minutes--in an 8 year-old-car. We get to work where nine out of ten of us feel at least moderately good about our job. Free time? Mr. Average has an hour more than Ms. each day. We all spend an average 17 minutes exercising. But that's an average. Eight out of ten of us don't exercise at all. The average household has more TVs than people. And on average, we'll go to bed tonight sometime after 10:00. But only half of us will sleep well. And where do we get the time for everything? We multitask, 40 hours every week, much more than in the past. As you watch this broadcast, there's a good chance you're cooking dinner at the same time. It smells good.
